As a respected expert, Leslie King has access to those who are able to affect legal and legislative change. As a survivor, her righteous anger compels her to act in the following ways:

+ Standing up for victims’ rights

+ Working closely with Michigan Attorney General Bill Schuette’s task force on ending human trafficking

+ Advocating with state and local officials for tougher laws that target traffickers

+ Serving as an expert witness in civil and criminal cases

+ Joining with local agencies and police departments as a survivor specialist
